Run Actae on your own machine. No account required.
Actae Self-Hosted Community is the free, self-contained build: one binary that embeds the API, the dashboard, and PostgreSQL. Download it, run it, and fork a production agent run in about a minute. No card, no enrollment, no control plane.
No account, card, or control plane. The archive includes a SHA-256 in the release manifest; verify it against SHA256SUMS and its GPG signature (public key at .well-known). Alpine/musl hosts: `actae` itself is static and runs everywhere; the embedded PostgreSQL archives for Alpine are published as linux-x86_64-alpine / linux-aarch64-alpine. macOS: the binary is ad-hoc signed, so no Apple Developer account is needed — but a browser download is quarantined by macOS. Use the one-line xattr fix in the quickstart below, or download with curl (never quarantined).
Download and run
$ tar -xzf actae-<version>-<platform>.tar.gz $ chmod +x ./actae # macOS Gatekeeper only blocks browser downloads — one-time fix: $ xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ./actae # starts the API + dashboard + a managed PostgreSQL cluster $ ./actae
Operational in ~60 seconds — one binary, no Docker, no external database. The banner prints your dashboard URL and a one-time
sk-…API key: copy them now (the key is shown once).Install an SDK
- Python
pip install actae-clientPython 3.9+ - Go
go get github.com/BViganotti/actae-goGo 1.25+ - TypeScript
npm install @actae/sdkNode 20+, ESM
Or run
actae addin your project — it detects your agent stack and prints the exact install command and setup file. Framework adapters (LangGraph, LangChain, Claude, OpenAI Agents, CrewAI, Codex, Copilot) ship inside the SDKs.- Python
Record your first event
import asyncio from actae_client import ActaeClient async def main(): async with ActaeClient( endpoint="http://127.0.0.1:8002", # use the URL from the banner api_key="<API key from the banner>", ) as client: event = await client.record( "my-channel", "tool.completed", payload={"result": "success"}, actor="my-agent", ) print("recorded cursor", event.cursor) asyncio.run(main())Open the dashboard URL from the banner to watch the event land. Verify what you downloaded
$ curl -fsSL https://actae.dev/v1/community/SHA256SUMS -o SHA256SUMS $ curl -fsSL https://actae.dev/v1/community/SHA256SUMS.asc -o SHA256SUMS.asc $ curl -fsSL https://actae.dev/.well-known/actae-release-signing-key.asc | gpg --import $ gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc SHA256SUMS $ shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
Every release publishes SHA-256 checksums and a GPG-signed checksum manifest, and macOS builds are code-signed. The release public key is served at /.well-known/actae-release-signing-key.asc. Never run a binary you have not verified.
- One self-contained binary — API, dashboard, and PostgreSQL baked in
- Free forever for single-node self-hosting; no account or card

- Idempotent tool-execution ledger (claim / lease / replay)
- Crash recovery, replay-to-live, and multi-agent coordination
- Python, Go, and TypeScript SDKs plus framework adapters
- Managed Cloud runtime — no infrastructure to operate
- `actae upgrade` — signed, control-plane-managed self-hosted updates
- Enrollment, the customer portal, and fleet management
- Support and a path to an SLA
The community build is single-node and self-supporting. To run it managed, or to get signed updates and support, see Cloud plans. Actae never executes your agent code; you run it against your own machine. Read the quickstart
